COTTAGE DESCRIPTION
It sleeps 12 in 4 bedrooms plus a study with pullout sofa in front of the airtight fireplace and second flat screen satellite TV. Beds are one king, two queens, one bed-sofa, along with two sets of bunk beds.
Miskwabi Lake is one of the most sought-after lakes in the Haliburton area. This large lake is deep and clean, and is part of a two-lake chain with Long Lake, stretching for seven km. The lake is stocked by the Ministry. The property has 200 feet of shoreline with both a deep section for dock and boating as well as a shallow sandy beach area with gradual entry suitable for small children and wading. Exposure is to the south, keeping the property and the home sunny and bright all day. Canoe and aluminum boat included. 10HP motor available with owner’s approval. Life jackets are not supplied – renters must bring their own. (This is an insurance requirement.)
An open-concept living/kitchen with gourmet kitchen offers a spectacular 180 degree view. The gorgeous masonry open fireplace, quite unique -- called a “Rumsfeld,” is surrounded by a comfy sectional sofa and flat screen LCD TV. The lower level study has a pull-out sofa with the second flat screen LCD TV and satellite receiver and an airtight masonry fireplace for cozy sleeping. Heating is radiant hot water with heated floors for exceptional comfort in winter. Furniture is all premium quality, including a master bedroom with king pillow top mattress. The master suite offers complete privacy on the main floor. There is also a huge walk-in closet. The master bathroom has a soaker tub and walk-in shower. The guest bathroom on the lower level is very large with a walk-in shower. Throughout the home, including the bathrooms, are upscale fittings. Renters must bring their own linen and towels. The kitchen is gourmet quality with propane stove, exhaust fan, bar, bar sink, dishwasher, oversized fridge, and an island with seating. There is a screened-in porch off the kitchen. The laundry room has a high-efficiency washer and dryer, and a deep sink. Enjoy the wide exterior deck with its child-safe feature, and propane BBQ. The exterior parking is plentiful and there is no problem with steep grades or getting stuck in the winter.

My family and I went to this cottage for free days to celebrate my parent’s birthday. We liked the cottage very much, especially the main floor. The kitchen looks very classy and hi-tech. The dinning room and family room are very cozy especially the fireplace. When we came there the outside temperature was -20C so it took around 5-6 hours to warm up the house because of the high ceilings and large windows but after that it was pretty warm for the rest of our stay.
